One of the Best Excuses for Laziness
  Cynthia Henriquez

So, this issue’s about “laziness?” Going back to bed seems like a pretty good idea right now, then! Oh! Not that kind of laziness? Ok…well…in that case, going to a spa seems like the next best place to be. You inevitably will have to pay for the services, but hey, you’re relaxing right?? And, you’ll have someone to cater to every whim you can conjure up. So get off your lazy butt and go to a spa for a full day of indulgence and luxury!

One of the best excuses for laziness can be found in Orlando, FL at the Grande Lakes Resort. Nestled between two of the most well regarded hotels known to man, The Ritz-Carlton and The J.W. Marriott, is a space of tranquility and peace.

Forty thousand square feet are available to rejuvenate both your body and mind. Some of their amenities include: 40 different treatment rooms, a 4,000 square-foot heated lap pool for spa guests only, a relaxation conservatory, a full-service salon, and a spa boutique. Health and beauty treatments are among the menu of hundreds of different kinds of therapeutic remedies they offer. They are a little pricey but the feeling you’re given is well worth it.

One of the many treatments they present is the Rain Forest Stone Treatment. This Caribbean style form of body healing is from the El Yunque Rain Forest in Puerto Rico. They begin by exfoliating the entire body; next is a Vichy rain shower followed by a passion fruit extract application topped with heated stones to help relax the tension out of muscles. Eighty-minutes of this lavish massage costs $175. Another relaxing alternative is the Tuscan Citrus Care. It’s a little pricier at $295 for an hour and a half, but you receive ultimate attention to your body’s well being. The experience begins with a citrus scrub and a zesty lime shower to prep the body. Next, an aromatic massage using Italian extracts of bergamont, green mandarin and lemon follows. A sweet orange body wrap that hydrates thirsty skin follows a hydro soak in an aqua latte milk concoction. If that’s not relaxing, I don’t know what is!

Don’t worry if you don’t have too much cash to spend, other massages are offered at a much lower cost. The Swedish massage is offered for $65 for 25 minutes, six different hydrotherapy baths starting at $55, and the Dead Sea Salt Glow body treatment for $65, among many others.

Although the whole point is to relax at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, they not only give you the opportunity to wind down, but they also present a full gym with aerobic and dance classes to precede your relaxation period. Salsa, ballet, and belly dancing are just a few of the fun workouts you can enjoy. Group classes are only $10 per 50-minute sessions. Some of these classes consist of, Classic Yoga, Australian Outback Spinning Class, Hawaiian Hula Dancing, Cardio Workout, and Boxing Basics, just to name a few.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers an opulent and sumptuous experience for laziness. So next time you don’t want to feel guilty about lazing around, head toward Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, FL.
