Time to Make Summer Plans!
   Tracy Tallman

Ahh, summer is finally here. No school, no cold weather, no worries. But wait, what is there to do, anyways? Well that’s where Enliv comes in. We’re here to help you live better this summer by giving you a list of ten awesome things to do in June.

  • Become a camp counselor. This doesn’t necessarily mean an out of state camp. If you want to stay close to home, there should be plenty of local camps that are in need of counselors- and they pay! Check your newspaper for listings.
  • Soak up some sun. Boating is great during the summer. It’s hot, breezy, and it’s the perfect opportunity to work on your tan.
  • Take a class you usually wouldn’t have time for. Most people aren’t able to spend fall and spring tuition on extra classes, but summer term can be the perfect time. Try a photography class, or a class on rock and roll history.
  • Two words: Road trip! Need I say more?
  • Try a hot new bar or club. After relaxing in the sun all day, a night of dancing seems like a sensible option. Wrap a skirt around your bikini, stick a flower in your hair, and grab a Mai Tai!
  • Go to an outdoor concert. There’s nothing better than watching the sun set behind a stage where your favorite band is performing. This is the month to splurge on U2 or Britney tickets. Check out www.ticketmaster.com.
  • Learn a new sport. Whether it be surfing on the east coast or playing Ultimate Frisbee in the park, a new sport will feel like an accomplishment, and not to mention it’s great exercise!
  • Take advantage of the free time. Relax, it’s summer! Chill out on the couch and watch Sex and the City reruns. Ride a horse, read a book, paint your toe nails. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s stress-free.
  • Try a summer romance. Sure it’s cliché, but sometimes those can be so much fun! The waiter that left his number on your napkin, or a sweetie you met on a Key West trip, just give it a shot. Hey, if it only lasts a couple of months, at least you had someone to do all of these activities with.
  • Be daring in the clothing department. If there’s any season when yellow daisy dukes are acceptable, it’s this one. Bright bikinis, flip flops, crazy sunglasses; whatever your fetish, indulge this month (Not those kind of fetishes, pervert). This season is all about color and creativity!

Summer is full of endless opportunities to relax and have fun! This entire list has been guaranteed to ease stress and make you feel like a kid again (except for the bar hopping). No matter what you decide to do this afternoon, be sure to do it with Enliv style.
