The Plot: A man in Kathmandu is married with children,
but he feels empty, until he meets one of his new students, a 15-year-old
mother who intrigues him. They have an intense affair, which scares
the main character and tears him in two: either his family life,
or his passionate life.
The Recommendation: This book has received four
and a half out of five stars. It is highly recommended and people
have fallen in love with the plot and its descriptiveness. “Deep
and moving.”

Empress Orchid
The Author: Anchee Min
The Plot: A girl raised in poverty has a stroke
of luck and becomes one of the many concubines of the Emperor during
the Manchu dynasty. All of the concubines try desperately to give
the Emperor a son to be the Empress, but she uses her smarts to
become that Empress. But the dynasty is about to fall.
The Recommendation: All of the reviews call out
to good directors, especially Oliver Stone, to make this book a
movie and name it The Last Empress. That’s how good the critics
think of this book.

Love Is The Drug
The Author: Sarahbeth Purcell
The Plot: A woman’s dad is dying. So she
escapes reality by living her life in the 80s, taking ecstasy and
sleeping with so-called “losers.”
The Recommendation: This book looks fun and those
who have read it have rated it positively, with the exception of
one or two negative points. The fun part is the character’s
Top Ten Lists with plenty of four letter words that could be shocking!
