now we've all dreamed of getting away to that mystical island, that dream with the beach and the white sands that reflect the moon's light and clear too-blue waters. and how times did we settle for just that murky beach water laying on a towel sharing the beach with hundreds of other visitors? well, meet Petit St. Vincent (PSV for short). it's a 113 acre island "paradise of soft rolling hills surrounded by two miles of white sand beaches". it's got 22 simple luxurious cottages. that's it. a cottage and the island - all to yourself. no airport, no check-in, no keys, no tv, no phones. just u (and your someone). the place offers room service for everything which means u'll never even have to leave your cottage or meet anyone. the price is a bit steep but what the heck, think of the memories. it's $910 for now till mid-march. send me a postcard.

ok, here's whatyou need. a group of friends, somey moeny,a nd a plane ticket to interlaken, switzerland. there you'll find a hostel (like a hotel but much cheaper and where you share rooms wiht other travelers) called Balmer's Herberge. i stayed there a few nights and found it a great gateway to what the outdoors of switzerland has to offer and meeting tons of fellow travelers. there's nothing like trading stories while doing laundry! not to the mention the nightclub right in the basement! that's right, after a long day canyoning (repelling, diving, hiking through rapids), hang gliding, rock climbing, etc, unwind downstairs at the club and then find your way back to your room without having to drive anywhere. notes of interest, there's a 10PM silent law all throughout switz and the hostel has a lockout period, but don't worry, you'll be out ALL DAY anyways! cheapest dorm rooms for 16.50 Euro and up (that's about 17 dollars!) per night and includes breakfast.
